Persimmon submits plans for 519 homes

Persimmon has submitted plans for 519 homes, across two sites in Nottinghamshire and North Yorkshire.

The plans are for 380 homes at the housebuilder’s Penniment Farm development near Mansfield, and 139 homes in Hemingbrough, North Yorkshire.

Plans have been submitted to each county council’s respective planning department.

At Penniment Farm, there is already outline planning permission for up to 400 homes. This new application includes contributions of over £2.5m, with £1.6m towards local education.

The homes on this site will be a mix of one to four-bedroom homes, all fitted with EV chargers, and 28 allocated for affordable rent or shared ownership options. There will also be 6.25 acres of public open space on the site with two children’s play areas.

In North Yorkshire, the plans are also for one to four-bedroom homes with EV chargers. Twenty of these will be transferred to a local housing association upon completion, and four single storey bungalows and eight M4(3) wheelchair-accessible dwellings will be available.

Residents on this site will have access to 1.2 acres of public open space, again featuring a children’s play area, and Persimmon expects to contribute £190,000 to local education facilities.

Of the Nottinghamshire site, George Breed - senior land and planning manager for Persimmon Nottingham - said: “We are delighted to have submitted our reserved matters application for Penniment Farm, this development will provide high-quality new homes for local homebuyers alongside significant investment into the local area.

“We look forward to working with Mansfield District Council and local stakeholders to bring this project to life.”

And in Yorkshire, Persimmon land director for the county Joel Frank said: “We are delighted to submit plans for new homes in Hemingbrough.

“This project will provide much-needed homes for local people and enhance the community with new amenities and public open spaces. We look forward to working with North Yorkshire Council and local stakeholders to bring this project to life.”
